I finally bought a FF, and am looking to do the puck mount transducer setup.  Just wondering if anyone has some extra pool noodle around that I could use instead of buying one.  Might need enough to do it twice (first timer), but if your in the south bay and don't mind sparing some please let me know!

Will also be attempting to build the new school power supply, if you have any extra parts for making one I would take it off your hands for a reasonable fee.

Thanks!

I may have an extra 10-cell battery holder laying around.  I vaguely remember buying two of them when I put the power supply in my Outback.  I'll check when I get home.

Was thinking of just using the cheap water proof container someone suggested at Target, but a nice case wouldn't hurt ;)  I figured I would use some velcro to attach it to the inside of the hull at the highest point so I can to keep water out.

Also, I wonder if this is a bad idea or not.  I was just going to run the cable through the front hatch on my Hobie.  It's the type where its basically a lid attached with a bungee cord but not hinged and has a rubber seal around the inside.  I always get a little water in side when I am out, probably because of the rudder cable holes.  So I doubt much would trickle in if it doesn't make too much of a gap.  Should that not work, I guess I'll break down and mount a wire seal for the cabling instead.

Cheers!

Does anyone have a picture of the pool noodle mount for a ff transducer. I am confused as to how you are doing it.

That's what I do on my P15's ... mostly because I've been too lazy to do it any other way.  However, I don't have any problems with it like this.
