humminbird Helix 7 chirp/gps g2

Just installed it and can't get the GPS fix.  It says GPS unconnected.  I did the update what am I not doing correct?  any Humminbird fans out there.  I have always used Lowrance and never had a problem.  Plug them in and go.  Thanks.  FISH ON.

I think there is a setting to use an external GPS antenna. Maybe that got turned on somehow. Try resetting to factory settings or searching for that option. Might be faster to call tech support though. I just plugged mine in and it worked.

There should be in the pul down menu a spot to place the unit on auto for antenna selection. The above comment may be accurate and it is on external. If you are in your house trying it may not pick up the signal. My older 7 series will not pick up in house sometimes. How long are you waiting for it to get a signal?

You can also go to the diagnostic readout and see if it says GPS connected or not.
