This one was interesting.  Just offer up a trade for repelling lessons the shove him off a cliff...problem solved.

I noticed that too.  To me, and to many others, rappelling is the spookiest part of climbing.  None of my climbing falls ever gave me the heebee-jeebees, In fact they were mostly motivating. But noticing I'd not properly setup the rope through my figure-8 and locking 'biner during a pre-rap double check still gives me the shivers 17 years later. I'd have dropped about 600 feet straight down... Spah-freakin-lat!!

Then there's rapping off of rock horns, ice bollards, small trees, or overhangs in the dark.  I better stop, my hands are sweating and I'm scaring myself.
