Still on vacation and saw that brief window in HMB.  What the heck, headed out with 2 rings and a trap.  Dropped my first trap at 7:40am and was pulling all the gear by 10:00am.  Waves were supposed to be 5 feet, but were more like 3 feet every 7 seconds in the early morning.  That was until about 9:30am when the swells were definitely 5 feet and the wind started to make the water a little choppy and screw things up.

Didn't see any bait fish and the scanner was pretty quiet with regards to salmon being caught.  Ended the day with 6 dungeness and 1 rock crab for my neighbor (who loves them).  Friends and I will be fishing Santa Cruz this Thursday...
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

I admit, I've got some great neighbors who put up w/ my dogs barking, my chainsaw blaring, etc...  I'm always happy to give them some crabs or fresh caught fish when I head out.  And yes, the water was flat today... but only for 90 minutes or so  :smt009

Maybe I'll move to your area and be your neighbor. Hahaha.
Great job werkin that small window.
Always great to be out and be rewarded sometimes even with just the exercise.
Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in

Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the

Good score!

You were smart to launch later. I went north in my boat and some swells were steep + breaking. Wild, wet ride out.
