Hey all, just started kayak fishing. A friend invited me (plus had a spare kayak & rod)... now I’m hooked. Grew up pulling pan fish from a little lake, but it’s been decades. Since starting in April, been going out most weekends, mostly Alameda rock wall, but also Emeryville and Crissy Field. (If you see a pink pfd, might be me.) The bay is gorgeous & the one keeper halibut so far was tasty. I catch more views than fish, so cruising the board for tips on finding & landing dinner, as well as gear. Thanks to the fella at rock wall/Encinal boat ramp for the suggestion/invite to get on NCKA!

Kayak angler madness: Symptoms include dramatic increase in time spent online trying to understand tides, watching kayak fishing videos to figure out how the heck to catch and/or release a fish on a small platform with grace (ha! not there yet), and researching all the gear? Speaking of online resources, thanks Lost Anchovy for being a go-to
