HMB 5/5 REPORT

Hi NCKA fellow members. Me and my buddies went to HMB the past weekend targeting rockfish. The ocean was very calm and perfect condition to go fish.  I think I was the first kayaker made it out there early around 6:30AM. made it out to the green can and started fishing. There was not much fish biting at first but later on I found a good rock to fish on at. Took me less than 1 hour to limit out. It was a beautiful day out.

Final count:
1xCabezon
2xGophers
7xBrownies

Didn't catch a keeper ling, only caught a few shakers. It was a good day out!

I had very good success over the years with Ho-D jig =)

Only had 1 keeper dungie with around 4hr soak. Mainly targeting fish. Crabs are just bonus.

Yea that's what I heard too. But i think just a matter of finding the right spot.

This year I'd like to try fishing out of HMB for rock cod, ling, and if I'm really optimistic, salmon. I've launched extensively in both the delta and the bay. Is the HMB launch easier than your typical ocean beach/surf launch?

Launch at the hmb kayak rental place. After you’re Done. They let u use their water hose to rinse off the kayak too. Very nice owner.
