Nice lings guys! We went longshot for tooners.

interesting that the bite was on considering how early it is, but that seems to be the way of things this year.

No halis yet though eh? :smt003

One in our group hooked into a halibut that jumped out of the net.

The fishing was lit on Saturday to say the least.

The launch/landing isn't so easy but it's worth it.

When there are 20-30 people with activated shark shields all in the same area, it must have a compounding effect.  Crazy collective shark force field!!  :smt044

Right on!  I can't wait for another good day to get out there and actually target some regular rock cods with some squid!  I was going full guns out with the big swim baits haha.

Cheers dude.

Great report on your first trip and well done on the ling and cabbies.  Keep throwing the swimbait though, all my biggest rockfish have come on big 8 and 10 inch swimbaits.  Keeps the little ones off, for the most part.   :smt003

I'm sure it also helps that a pod of Orcas was moving through the area too.  :smt003
