I don't think it will be that tight fit like the 15, more like the looser fit in the BG.
We made sure that there were better channels to the  scuppers back there also. We got tired of them being covered up by our bait tanks and coolers.
Mooch we have a brown one on order for you to hide the mud and dirt.
Mine of course will be red.. you know why :smt044

Jim, do you know which rotomold process they used to cook the boat. Is the plastic a super linear polyethelyne or is OK still using crosslink plastics. What about UV inhibitors. The kayak looks well thought out but it always comes down to the construction and materials. You seemed to indicate that they're still tweaking the molds which is industry speak for their trying to make it cheaper. Is this pretty much the finished product.

OK has been using Linear Poly for many many years. The last company to use crosslink was Cobra and they stopped at least six years ago.
I think tweaking in this case means, getting the flow of plastic in the mold correct. In the rotomold process you need to make sure you get the correct amount of plastic in all of the crucial areas and also make sure there is no pooling. They would need to figure out the correct amount of plastic to make the boat strong but not too heavy.
This is a finished product. My understanding is that production will start next week.

I have owned several OK boats over the years, and Paige has one now.  They have always been durable.  I recently rigged bigeyedave's 2 hatch scupper and it is a testament to durability...wadda warrior!

From the OK site

 Materials
Linear, Medium-Density, Polyethylene Construction
When considering kayak construction, the key is to find material that is neither too flexible or too stiff. Flexible material is less efficient, but harder to crack. Stiff material creates a more efficient hull, but is more brittle and easier to crack. Linear, medium-density polyethylene (PE) is virtually indestructible under normal use. Being somewhat flexible, PE gives on impact, which keeps it from cracking, but maintains its stiffness using Ocean Kayak's compound curves. Polyethylene is also very abrasion-resistant, but in the event you scratch or gouge your Ocean Kayak, linear PE is repairable. Ocean Kayak offers free weld rod and repair instructions should you ever need them. By making kayaks using polyethylene, Ocean Kayak is able to provide a great product at an affordable price!

Damn good answer Jim, very technical. I sorta figured that but was looking forward to a discussion on plastics anyways. When someone buys a sea-kayak from me the material it's made of is almost their primary concern. The difference between Fiberglass, Kevlar, and carbon fiber can be over a thousand dollars. Boat still looks the same in all three. Not all plastics are the same, nor are fishing kayaks made the same way. We see these differences in the prices of SOT'S on the market today. The struggle is to make a strong boat but to make it as light as possible. The proof in the pudding of well designed and even better constructed plastic kayak is a consistent quality control that starts when it's popped out the mold and scrutinized by a geeky engineer. How many defective boats did that company let out into the market place before they caught there own mold imperfections, Whats the rate of warranty, How many times has a boat been "re-tooled" and regergetated. Newbies and prospective buyers should have these questions on their mind as well as how cool the layout looks. We're trusting our lives to these craft and in the past some of the bigger guys have let us down.

No it is not standard and not even on the angler as far as I know. It may be on the fully rigged angler model with the rudder, fish finder, battery bag, and rod holders, but I am not sure.

Jim, that mud and dirt on my yak is testimony of me finally catching my first legal sturgeon in the San Francisco Bay after years of trying in unfavorable  :cold  conditions :headbang:

It's called "Cowboy-up-fishing"  :cowboy_smoke: :smt002
