Got to lake Sonoma around 730. There was a good layer of fog on the lake but it burned off pretty quickly. It was also a bit windy, but I knew that was coming.

Water temp started at 57 and rose up to 60 when I left at 1130. The water was clearing up and it was about 3 feet of visibility.

There seemed to be two stages of fish. There were shallow bass hanging around the 10 foot range and then deep bass hanging out around 25 feet.

I ended up catching around 20 bass and 1 crappie. Nothing big but a good mix of lmb and smb.

I also caught what may be the smallest bass I’ve ever hooked which was pretty funny.

Thanks John,   I went to the hatchery today and eyed the lake as well. Glad you posted I was wondering if it would be worth going. Looks like it is!

I hit Sonoma on Saturday with very similar results.  15 mixed bass, 1 large crappie.  Mostly small bucks up shallow, but a few worm fish deeper, and a few reaction bait fish early, including one about 3lb on a spinnerbait.  I found the water starting at 58 degrees, and coming up to about 63 by the time I left.  Same visibility, about 2 1/2 or 3 feet.  Another week of stable weather, along with the full moon, and I'm guessing it will be on.

Thanks for the report!
