Looks rough this weekend. Unless you know you can handle the wind and swell, I would wait for better conditions. It just isn't fun fishing in conditions like this.

I fish off the Alameda Rock Wall but have been contemplating a first trip to the Ocean out of HMB. 

What is the max swell and wind that people recommend for heading out at HMB?

For me personally I like the swell height no more than 1/2 the period. So 5ft or less at 10 seconds would be flat. 10ft at 10 seconds is big. I also aim for wind 10 or less mph.

Everyone’s personal comfort level is different but that’s a very basic guideline that I use
