Crescent City - 6/19

Had some work up that way today, so I brought my gear along and hit the water a little after 2PM.  There was a persistent south breeze and fog lingering about - not the best ingredients for my first time launching from the "Whaler Island Groin".  On advice from the counter guy at Englund Marine I headed south to Mussel Rock and jigged for a bit, but no hookups other than losing a jig to the rocky bottom.  I paddled back with the wind to Whaler Island where some shore fishermen were trying their luck from the rock and a powerboat was hanging around looking like they didn't want to head out into the fog.  No hookups here either, but, as always, it was nice to be on the water, and now I've checked out a little bit more of the Crescent City area.

At least you got to go fishing after work...thats always a good thing, regardless of skunk or fish.
