well I did the first rigging on the marauder, this kayak will for sure be my sons
his arms are about 12in longer then mine so it will be perfect for him. :smt007

As for a sonar & GPS I will mount them on each side of the rod holder
with a one wireseal for both + all the other stuff that you would
put on a kayak.

Dude only you would add a rod holder to a boat that already had 8!!!  :smt044

Do you like that holder better than the most forward facing flush mounts?

I like to troll with the rod in front of me it is just better that way because
you can if you have a leverdrag reel you can let out more line with
your foot without having to stop paddling.
and you can't troll with those front flush mount rod holders their just useless

man you guys are old school  :smt010

I was just giving you a hard time man.  :smt003

I have had pretty good luck trolling with the front rod holders, I have to adjust my stroke a tiny bit but once I got used to it, it was fine. The are great for trooching as well. For all out distance trolling I go with the ones right behind the seat though.

for me + I don't like not being able to throw my legs over the side.

Looks good Duane.  I troll with the flush mounts all the time, but I put a scotty gimbal mount adapter in the flush mount and add a scotty rodmaster II rod holder to that.  Allows you to have the rod in a reasonable trolling position.

You definitely have plenty of options for how to rig that boat up though.

And your son... ya... you could say his arms might be just a touch longer than yours... sheesh... what did you feed that boy?
