Has anyone been out Crappie fishing at Clearlake in the last few weeks?  Never been there but looking to go in the next couple weeks.  Any tips on where to launch, fish and what to use would definitely been appreciated.  Thx!

I heard there was a crappie tourney up there this weekend but can't confirm if it was good intel or crappie.

Not sure about a tourney either...but the bite is getting better! Water temp 55. High lake level now below flood stage @ 8.45. This is from about a week ago. Lots of easy shore fishing around the lake with over 100 miles of shoreline. I like  small presentations like jig head/soft plastic to flip under docks and structure or small worm on a bobber. Lots of free places to fish around the lake like county park, library park, redbud park. Most have public docks as well.

I do know ya gotta have a line in the water to catch em. Can’t do it from the couch...
SO GOOD LUCK! GO GET EM!

They’re crappie, don’t overthink it! They’re biting all over the lake somewhat shallow mostly. My favorite lure is a small swimbait on a 1/8 oz head. Use a slightly larger one than you think you need and you will eliminate small crappie and catch a lot of bass too. Also rip baits in the 90 or 75 size will get you bit. 90 will get you bass too. Once you find them an anchor will keep you on the school.
