Just called JP bait and it sounds like they are open for the season.  We all love live bait and I have spent alot on live bait over the years.  This year I hope to buy several scoops, 20$ a scoop and not let much go to waste if I can help it.  The dead ones after a day will be made into boquerones for eating and much brined and packaged for salmon trolling.  I hope I do it right this year and mostly catch live if I can, until then, live bait is gooood stuff... :smt006

So will the sturgeon and halibut. By then he won't even need live bait.  :smt044 :smt044

Eddie I seem to remember you having a big plastic garbage can with water and an aerator to keep them alive in.

What was your success rate in survivability? I was thinking that it was a good idea and sort of wanted to copy. If I can score bait, keep it alive, and then not have to catch my own would be amazing.

Any idea if they have bigger baits like sardines?

My other idea is to keep shiner perch alive instead of anchovies since the shiners are much more resilient. Or maybe small jacksmelt if I could catch some small ones.

They will often have sardines in the mix but will not separate them out for you.

They never last overnight but they make it to my livewell on the kayak and there are always a few warriors that last the whole day, if I'm on my game they get a water change somehow throughout the day...
