Newbie On Board

Hi everyone, my name is Greg and I’m new to kayaking. I’m located in Fairfield California and have been a weekend-warrior shore fisherman all my life. I would like to expand my horizons and get into this craze.  I’m joining the forums so I could get some advice on gear, educate myself on the do’s and don’ts, and to meet fellow enthusiasts. Looking forward to chit-chat with the community.

Welcome, practice self rescue.

That’s the first thing on my to do list this Spring. I've flipped a kayak in a pool and practiced self-rescue but I haven't done it with a wetsuit or dry suit and Pfd. After, I'll take the baby steps of hitting a lake to hone in my kayak paddling techniques and more self-rescue.
