The hard plastic pieces in the cradles of the Hullavator are denting my boat. Does anyone know of an aftermarket foam piece that fits in the cradles? I can cut some to size and bungee them on, but I would prefer to buy something already put together. Thanks!

Do you leave the kayak strapped in, ready to go at any time? Curious what kayak you have that has a bottom that would be affected.

My hull actually rubs on the metal between the plastic cradles on the hullavator.  I just cut up a foam yoga block and taped it down with black electric tape.  It works

Traction pad pieces stuck to the hot spots on the rack might help prevent the oil canning.
A thick piece of Hydro-turf with the self adhesive is what I would try.  If that doesn't help, I would then move on to a slice of pool noodle vs mini-cell.
Another angle is a thick strip of mini cell stuck to the metal bar between the plastic parts will help support the entire area from the pressure of the plastic parts
Good luck.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm planning on going that route if there are no pre-made ones on the market.

The boat is a 17 foot sit-inside kayak, and it already had some oil canning. Between the length of the boat and the thinner plastic, it was getting distorted in the rack. I just use the rack to transport it to Loch Lomond, so it doesn't stay long in the rack. I'm not too worried about this boat, but I don't want it to happen with a new boat in the future.

Is Loch Lomond allowing outside watercraft again?

Loch Lomond allows outside boats if you store them for the season. They decontaminate them with a steam wash. Decon is around 25, and storage is 250. If you want to remove your boat, you have to schedule another decon when you bring it back.
