Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

I'll "bite".  What advantage do you gain with a $130-$150 lure over a lure that costs $15 or under?  And is the advantage worth the extra cost?

I have an old lure like that NIB.
It was old when I got it 35 years ago  :smt001
Also have a couple old creek chub wooden lures NIB.

Wonder what they are worth if anything

Advantages....bigger fish, lots of drawing power, fish hit em like freight trains, the satisfaction of catching the meanest f'd up bass in the lake that'll pounce rats, birds and other fish.  Disadvantages.....slower learning curve (you gotta learn to specifically target the biggest fish in your body of water), fishing for substantially less bites, heartache over the bait you snap off or smash into a piling and destroy:), heartache over the tankers you lose (it happens a lot more than you'd expect when a bait has chemically sharpened hooks that'll catch your hands any time they're near).........and.....$150 is just the tip of the iceberg when you factor in that you'll need to buy a xxh rod and 300-400 sized reel just to throw the bait.  That and you're not gonna buy just one bait ........or rod and reel setup lol

As long as the wife doesn't find out what it cost :smt003 and you can still eat till next payday :smt044 WIN!!! (Ive got 15 of those types of bait and they cost way more than I'll admit to :smt096 To put it in perspective, I'll swim all day looking for one if i loose it... They do get the 15lb-rs to bite. Don't buy if you can't stand to lose...
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Not necessarily, Point out a man that throws senkos and I’ll show you a man with a limitless budget  !!  :smt003

For me It’s just a challenging way to fish, I find it gratifying. And I’m not married so that helps with the budget. If you wanted to specifically fish xl bass I’d wager that punching is probably more effective.

+1.  Other than the PB I caught couple years ago on a crankbait, the previous several PBs were all caught punching through some thick cover in couple feet of water.

I want one of these. Not willing to pay this much for it.

These things have been known to catch HUGE Bass/Striped Bass.

Of course there are many other things that work.

It's all preference but oh does it look pretty and seeing a monster hammer this thing while it's gliding just beneath the surface sounds nice.
if I'm not fishing I'm probably thinking about fishing

Ha, it would make my stomach turn to drop $150 on a reel. Cant imagine dropping that on a lure.

get a 2X4 and start carving... One of my nicest baits was carved in a garage by a guy in so-cal for lake Castaic. Got it in a trade for work (car) deal... Price (not paid by me) $350.00 one off, hand painted, I got a 9lb bass using it...  Yes It is the one I spent 2 hrs swimming to find... :smt007 :smt005 :smt006
