Hey Brothas,
Come and play in the intertidal zone! Here is a fun tutorial on catching ghost shrimp around the bay. Please remember to fish responsibly--TLA

Ghost Shrimp
Neotrypaea californiensis (Ghost Shrimp), are often thought of when fisherman think of sturgeon. Ghost, grass, and mud shrimps are highly sought after bait when targeting these ancient dinosaurs, and this ghost shrimp pumping tutorial will provide you with all the information you need to get started!

“A resident of marine sloughs and bay flats on the west coast of North America, ghost shrimp burrow in seafloor sediments. These burrows protect the shrimps' soft, white bodies. But more important, as the shrimp wriggle along, they collect food from the sediments and from the water flowing through the burrows.” (ref- Montereybayequarium.org)

Range: Alaska to Baja California in the intertidal zone or mud flats

Great write-up! I’ve seen people pumping them at Alameda Rock Wall with good success. Thanks for the reminder that these little guys can be picked up with a bit of effort, rather than buying them in the bait shops

Thanks. I think it is really beneficial if you are fishing in a big group. I found out how expensive dino fishing can get during my first year.

I love what I do but don't want to blow a fortune doing it, however, to some the convenience outweighs the cost which is completely understandable. To each their own but the knowledge is here. Tight lines --tla.
