Hey all, I'm purchasing a 2019 Outback, adding the H-Bar support arm, and wondering what other Hobie accessories you would add. Mostly interested in ones that need to be installed verses those that strap on or go on a H rail. The dealer has accessories at 10% off plus will install them at no cost.
Thanks, Dan

I would think about anything you may want installed in the rear of the kayak.  There is no rear access. Maybe even have them install a rear hatch.  That is on my list of things to do.  I would like to store my FF battery back there.

Hey Forrest,
Dos your 2019 sit on the water different than the previous models?
I have the 2018 and have my battery in the front and it helps lower
The front end in the water a little.
When are you going to come catch some world class cutthroat out of pyramid lake?
It been picking up a lot of throw back 22-23" and have smoked several that were 25".

I have actually never tried the previous year outbacks.  only the PA.

The new model feels like it would benefit from the seat being just a little bit further back.  Raising the bow just a little.  That was my thinking behind storing the battery back there.  That and the fact that that whole area is just unused space for me.  Versus the hatch at my knees where I keep the battery now.  That hatch is easy access.

I need to make that pyramid lake trip happen.  I have been scheduling some trips lately,  and negotiating with the wife.  I will toss that one into the mix and see if I can get some dates.  I really want to fish that.

What are some good campgrounds I should look at in the area?

Pyramid is a tribal lake and it's all pretty primitive camping.
They have some bathrooms in a few spots.
Warriors is a good place to camp wether it's in a motor home or travel trailer. Pelican is the major boat launch and there's places to camp there.
You just have to get permits from the tribe for fishing and camping and there happy to take your money.
I like warriors!!!

I picked up my rear hatch today. Going to mount the FF battery back there. Also got a leash for the mirage drive. Thinking about the anchor trolley.

4est, do you remove the foam inside your outback to make room for storing fish in there?

If you are talking about the foam that Hobie puts inside the kayak, that should stay put...
There's always money in the banana stand.

I would purchase the hobie front hatch liner.
I would purchase and install the rear hatch in the spot made for it.
If you wanna get crazy get the hobie livewell.

I guess the only one that matters with free install is the rear hatch. I would put my battery there. Maybe install some gear tracks with backing plates in the rear flat spots behind the seat. Those are the o my things that really require much effort for installing.

As far as how the new outback rides it feels like the front rides low when empty. If you load up the rear with gear (I haul a lot of gear) then it levels out. The old outback was the opposite. It rode front high and the more gear loaded in the front was better.
