One more thing,  not sure where you plan on going out,  but around Santa Cruz, I have seen quite a few PA's out on the water.  The guys that I have talked to have all said they like it.

I load/unload mine at my house by myself.  I have a ford f150 with carpenters racks.  The outback is not too bad to load and unload solo.  However, I feel like the extra weight of the PA would make it rough.

That being said,  the outback is still not light.  I went out the other day with my buddy who as an ocean kayak prowler.  I helped him load and unload off my rack, and his was a joy to lift in comparison.

I used to load my PA12 on the roof using assist bars.  It gets old real quick and I didn't even use it that often.   :smt005

The PA's are definitely stable and you can add motors etc. But then we are not really talking a kayak. Even the manufacture labels it a boat. Imagine you are out of battery juice and your drive breaks. Happens.  Are you willing and able to paddle it back? Hauling one across the beach to surf launch ???? The easy launch places the PA is best suited for often have the highest amount of fishing pressure
Face it. Kayak fishing is a wet sport. Revo 13  with  Sidekick Amas for extra stability might be a good option

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I picked up my Outback today. Since it was storming I guess I can truthfully say I got it wet the day I bought it🤙🏼

You need to draw blood of a fish for it to be “wet”  :smt003

I too have bought an 19 Outback...
All the accessories and the mirage drive make it one sweet fishing kayak!
But I was unhappy about the water coming over the bow!
So I was just studying the seat set up and thought if it was back further, my weight  would be more center to rear instead of center to front, and the bow wouldn’t be so low.
Well it was an experiment  but I did move  the seat back 7-8 inches.  And now my seat is back and lower and the water over the bow  is like 90% less!  you ask how...
Might be a little Oakie but  I don’t care, it works sooo much better.  I used paracord with some compression  fittings. Using the inner handle and some convienient tiedowns , the seat is locked into one position!
I really shouldn’t have to do this  but had to figure something out ....
I think Hobie screwed up somehow in their design process, but I bought the boat and had to take matters into my own hands!
And now I’m happy!!
This may not be the solution for everybody but it works well for me!
Scotty

Oh yea, I left some blood on it  when I broke it in with a PB 26” Cab!

Had to look hard for the blood hidden in that last shot! Where the fish poem?  :smt044 nice seat modification and remember it DON’T matter what anyone else thinks about YOUR boat as long as YOUR happy with it, wish my kids would have learned that lesson but school beat that out of them.

Good choice on the outback. I have a friend who bought a PA. I got so sick of helping him load, unload and carry that tank. I do miss his company on the water though.

Genius solution. Very creative👍🏼 As a prescription glasses wearer the constant little splash is more than just a nuisance. The water spray was the probably the largest concern about the Outback when I was researching. I like your thinking.

Growing up as a reef bound angler, a Cabezon was always my biggest prize.
