Your patent will only be as good as the amount of money you have to defend it.
It isn't cheap to get there. Hope it's worth it.

I can second what Tote said. The question is, what if someone copies your product? How much of your time and money is it worth to pursue and litigate? What is your market and what is theirs? Is there enough margin in your product to pay for a legal battle? You won-congrats. The dirty bastards won't be copying your product no more. Judge awarded you a bunch of money in damages. How do you start the collections process and how much does that cost?
People are shitasses.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Thanks for the referrals and also much thanks for the words of wisdom.  I've run through the process once before and it worked out pretty well, time to give idea #2 a shot.
