Ok, this may be a little strange, but it looks like it works. Watch the video.

I recently had problems with my VHF  (uniden) - over the years of getting drenched by waves of salt water. For the past few outings I have been radio-less....and I'm sure a few of my regular kayak fishing buddies felt that it was a good thing to have peace and quite for a change  :smt002 Anyway, after drying it out completely and coating it with some CRC spray, I bought an aqua pac for it hoping I can get more "life" out of this nice little VHF.

Even though several VHF manufacturers are rated "submersible"....I'm sure we all know by now that it's B.S.
Keep your electronics dry by any means possible.....it's your life line when you're out in the big blue :smt002

I have a West Marine VHF that is rated as "submersible." Even so, a while back West Marine did a recall of sorts and supplied radio owners with free dry bags like AquaPacs. It's refreshing to deal with a company that is proactive and stands behind its products. And, yes, Mooch, I do turn it on once in a while. :smt002

I also invested in an AquaPac key keeper after dropping my car keys in wet sand. :smt013 I now keep the keys attached to my PFD where the electronic buggers stay dry and are also accessible when I forget something in the car.
