would any of you be interested in a ride?  i'm thinking of taking the boat on a 20-40 mile run for rockfish and lings.  we would be fishing inshore, 60 feet or less.  a second 25 foot grady would also join us.  it's just that i don't know it it's easier for you to drive down and launch.

Wow! May I join you sans kayak and fish from your boat? That would be a great intro to ocean fishing for me without worrying about getting tagged by a wave. Baby steps, you know. And I'll bring brownies, too! You just name the date and time.

Interesting idea Alan. A mothership trip to Pt Sur is unheard of but totally do-able. I think most people who make the run all the way down there don't consider getting out of their boat and into a kayak though...so thats why its so 'unheard of.'

I've taken the ride down there plenty of times and it can be rough. Especially the ride home. If I went that far, I'd just prefer to stay in the boat, and ummm assist the kayakers, while I catch big lings from the boat.

For me, I would prefer to drive down to Molera and launch from there. But then again, thats just me, and I live about 30 minutes from Molera. Would probably be singing a different tune if I lived in Stockton or something.

mea culpa! mea culpa!  I had a tube kink when bending, and had to get another length of aluminum sent. All the bends are done now. I'll call you this evening to come over and trial fit them.

scott came by last night, checked out the tubes, drank a beer and listened to a little music.  everything on the boat works great, even the stereo.  well, i have to replace one of the trailer lights, but that's it.

a friend of mine has a 25 foot grady white as well, and i'm thinking of talking him into running with me.  no one ever goes there.  i think he'd be game.  stay tuned......

Sign me up!  Give me a toothbrush and I'll clean the boat afterward, hell...I'll even do my famous BBQ ribs for that trip
