8kts is easily doable for Tomales.  Anything over 10kts, isn't fun.  And tide isn't terrible.  Launch at the top of the tide, fish both outgo, high flat bottom tide, and some incoming.  If I could, then I'd be there.

Dilemma alert...my wife is making me go fishing tomorrow...well...intuitively of course...and a few hints of, "We have school(she homeschools the kids)!"  What are you gonna do?"  Tomales it is...hope I find bait and get that last hali with a king, wsb, and striper by catch...
