Went out with a couple friends today to drift for halibut.  couldn't find any flatties, but gratefully accepted 2 barely legal lings. My friend Deva caught two barely illegal lings, both swam away.....

Can't wait to catch a halibut this year, but looks like ling cod fioshing is starting our pretty good.  Might be time to hit Davenport or Pigeon Pt soon......

Well, there's not a whole lot of them in yet.  Hopefully we'll see more soon.

halibut are being caught, mostly by luck, or by guys bounce ball trolling in PBs, covering l;ots of territory, and spending a lot of time on it.

Keep plugging, at least we're catcing lings and rockfish, so we get to eat......

You know I'll keep tryinr.

I've got to give up a big THANK YOU to Allen for taking us out on Saturday. That was my fist time kayak fishing in the ocean and I must say that I had a blast.

Allen,

I even talked the wife into letting me save up for a used kayak!!!! I'm soooo stoked. When I told her how much fun I had (coming home with fish didn't hurt either, thanks Allen) and that it was something I really wanted to do she didn't even blink an eye and said I should get one  :smt007 I got a keeper for sure!!

When I get my kayak I'm gonna have to change my work schedule a little so I can go fishing in the morning a couple days a week :D

I'll get a yak to fish from sometimes....
I only fished once this week.....
halibut are running, so is that deadline at work-you choose the Halis...
you can only save one, your childhood photos or you swimbaits-swimbaits are saved...

you know it is done when you visit an aquarium and all the fish freak out cuz they can sense their version of darth vader
