I thought it was determined that a kage is ok by the two dfw officers that the innkeeper asked if they had any problem with using that tool to dispatch any fish that is up to the kayak(not salmon), and they said they do not have a problem with that.  I may have exposed a "use at my own risk of garnering a ticket depending on the officer," scenario.  Off topic "ish"  :smt006

Sorry for late pic upload this weeks been hectic. Again a simple set up, and yes I tend to gaff smaller fish into the boat. If you fight the fish well they tend to tire out. I do also slip a line around their tail to help immobilize them. I have never lost a Halibut with these methods.
