I didn't realize it's only 4lb heavier than the previous model. Just sold my 2017 30 min ago and will pick up one of these. I've been waiting for f'in ever for side rails, keel protection and square hatch as standard. Great thing is those side rails arnt higher than the kayak side walls so it won't get in the way getting back on the yak after diving.

Kool-aid anyone?
haha
Probably about a dozen or so other manufacturers laughing
haha

...and if it wasn't for Hobie, would NCKA exist?

Uhh, yeah.  Pretty sure NCKA was here before mirage drive was produced. NCKA existed for a few years in a couple different previous forms/names prior to Papa Bill building this website (after I took him on his first kayak fishing trip- Bean Hollow LOL).

Bushy

and yes, if I could afford one I would probably own one....

Looks like they've thought of everything on this one...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

i like the longer hull and revo-like bow, but that's about it (too bad compass doesn't have vantage seat).  looks like no room for scotty flush mounts.  not a fan of the h-rails after seeing them on a compass.  i wonder if there will be a larger sailing rudder option?

need to see it in person and demo it!

Im sure you'll have a change of heart when you see it in person😜.  The revo- like hull is the game changer. I agree with you Ryan on the Compas not having the  vantage seat. I'd be all over it!

I really wanted to like the old outback, but I just couldn’t stand the hull slapping that the front end made. It drove me crazy and made my decision to get a revo super easy.

I have been kicking around the idea of a wider kayak for some standing ability and this may just got the bill. I plan on demoing one as soon as they start showing up. The features look great on paper, but only a test will really let me know.

dang I like the new add-on especially the underneath hull. The one thing about the current outback is the v-hull...makes it a pain to drag it into the water since it isn't as flat as the revo. But the v-hull makes it stable.

well tough for me to get a new kayak when I got the latest secret hobie out-AI lol

I am more interested in the next generation Revo 13.  I assume Hobie will be adding these upgrades, specially the tracks so we don't have to drill holes.

Just noticed the 2019 Outback Length: 12' 9" compared to the 2018 that's only 12' 1" ft.

2019 now weighs 103 lbs compared to the 2018 at 78 lbs.

103 is the rigged weight (seat and drive included). Here's the specs for the 2018.

 Length:
   12' 1" \ 3.68 m
Width:
   33" \ .84 m
Hull Weight:
   81 lbs \ 37 kg
Rigged Weight:
   99 lbs \ 45 kg

That’s bare hull vs fully rigged. A rigged 2018 outback is 99 lbs.

There is a really great comparison on nw kayak anglers http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=20869.msg219718;topicseen#new

Also hobie has a walkthrough video on their website now that is really good. I’m sold on this kayak now and really want one.
