Will be topping off all tanks and doing maitaniance on the RV this week in preparation for the SD trip.  Will have a crew of four meeting Freddie,"the savage" in SD, ChuckE,Joel,Mooch",Freddie and myself (Frankfishing) commaraderie, fishing and respect to Steve.
This should be off the chart,  "Asain Express". If you see us going down the highway with smoke bellowing out the RV don't worry it's only our rice cookers going off. Will use this post site as we progress and hopefully let everyone view our progress/trip.

Those of us guys going down in trucks, think it would be possible to toss an ice chest in the RV while we're on the boat? I doubt an ice chest would stay in the bed of the truck for that long. I am thinking about getting one of the heavy duty 168qt igloo ice chests from Costco.(69.99)

Shew! sounds like the traveling might be as fun as the boat trip!  Wish I was going with you guys, though it would skew the "Asian Express" concept.

How many boats can you put on your trailer?

Brian:

I will have space in the back of my new truck if you need it.  It has a locking shell as of today!

Mmmn...short grain or long grain. I'm sure you'll have a great time. I caught a calico bass last year on my long range trip and had the cook prepare it for me. One of the best-tasting fish I've ever had.

I'm guessing most will be driving becuase they need to bring their kayaks to fish off of (the boat doesn't provide them).  As for price, you right 1000 miles round trip at 20 MPG and $3.40/gal would be about $170 and slightly more expensive than a cheap roundtrip airfare.  The RV probably only gets 10 mpg and the total cost for gas would be about $340, but with carpooling and splitting the gas bill four ways, this is going to be much cheaper ($85 each) for them.

Besides, a nice long road trip with some friends can be fun.

Andy and I will be traveling as the "white trash express", to include beer, chew, and porno! (fish porno that is). I think our third rider will be Tom Tom! Can't wait! I think we are going to hit La Jolla on Saturday. Any takers?

I'm sure that the trip is going to be epic for us all, but I can only imagine the stories that come out of that RV   :smt044

Ahhhhhhh, if only I could be asian.   :smt003

Brian G and I are also planning on hitting La Jolla on Saturday...I would imagine most of us will be.

Gonna be a great trip.

Edit: I just realized I said/spelled the word "epic"...never done that before. I think I'm spending too much time on the board.

Brian and I are staying at the Dolphin (I think)...it's the hotel that Bill is staying at too... http://www.dolphin-motel.com/bry/dolphin/

Never been there but the prices don't seem too bad.  I don't know if there are any more rooms I think Brian said they were just about out when he made the reservations.
