I know using the cell phone camera as a magnifying glass is not new, but making it stable isn't that easy when you zoom in.  Recently by mistake, while trying to read the thread size on some taps, I discovered if you use a roll of masking tape and place the phone in the center of the roll and let it lean with the camera on, it makes for a very stable platform. You can then place the item in front of the lens and let it auto adjust and you can read things faster than trying to hold both items at the same time.

Thanks for the tip Kevin.

I just got told at my last eye exam I have the early onset of Cataract's so I have to do what I can to take care of them, and make adjustments where needed.
