Got out to the lake around 0545 and it was calm and quiet.  I launched the Mini-X because the X-Factor is all tied down and ready for So-Cal.  I put a nice coat of Pimp Juice on her so she looks clean and BLING-ISH.

I did not make any bait, I was just hunting for the top water action.  I hung around the triangle.  Thats the South boat ramp ,the little island and the big island.  The fish boiled all over the area, with no love.

Out of boredom I tied on a Lucky Stacey 90 (shad). and started to paddle a round a little bit.  Never trolling with a lure before (always live bait)  I did not pay much attention, until the sound of s spooling reel rang into my ears.

I caught two line sides, one about 3 lbs, the other was 10lbs.

I kept the big one.

Terry, thats true I love throwing plastic and fake stuff from time to time.  To answer your question, it was a nice sleigh ride.  I'm glad I had the mini x because I had very little line on my reel, and it was 8lb test, so he gave me a tug around for about 10 minutes +/-.

Nice fish, Andy!  Those slow-days-turned-awesome are always memorable and inspiring.  Way to get out there and do it.   :smt001

the mini-X may be in my near future, since I just sold my creek boat and I have a trip in july.
A recent loss of a rod/reel combo in C-lake has set me back though.
I am trying to dedicate more time to mendo in search of the big fresh water ride and Im tired of not catching fish there.  I have a boat in evolution now for just that purpose, chasing boils and hanging on.
MM,
I am hoping to head to mendo wednesday evening. I work 24s on tues and thurs so the morning isnt a option for me. Maybe a hookup? Sorry to hear about the injuries. You are aware that we take alot longer to heal now? and you got on a motorcycle?
go easy my friend

:smt010 Not the Rogue/Sol set up was it?

KB - Nice bass!

Hydro - I'm thinking of a Wednesday afternoon/evening trip myself.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

it was the rogue/okuma combo, still hurts, but replacable. I just need to pick up a few more OT shifts now before I can pick up a mini.

Hopper
launching at the northramp and trolling to CC and back.
Im not taking the T140 but a red 4.4

My junior fishin buddy and I hit the lake at around 0900 on Memorial Day. I gave InSeine your fishing report and he promptly put the info to good use.  We did have a nice day of fishing with one bendo but we could not make it stick... but it sure was better than crashing your motorcycle while at work.

Terry, I'm planning on hooking up with Sean and Andy Wednesday night for some pre-San Diego gear shuffle. Not sure what time, but I'd like to try and hook-up with you if I get a chance. Maybe I can talk Sean and Andy into hitting the lake too.

CHEERS!

Darren, The worst part is that I'm always crashing in front of our surveillance camera, which ends up in someones email.

Terry,....I know....over 40 sucks! But the money ain't bad.

If you have any trouble getting Sean on the water tell him that its time to see if my 4.4 is faster than his south African boats.

Andy& Darren;

Thanks for the pre-fish intel.  I owe you guys one.  You guys have to come down to my neck of the woods for some rockfish action.
