Being somewhat new to this sport and a metal fabricatior l made a through the scupper holes kart. Works great and is to use an store on the yak. The only downside is that it's somewhat ruff to roll through the sand.  I have seen Hobie karts with wheeleez sand tires. I was told that warranty would be void if I used that style on my Vibe. A friend let me use his wheeleez kart but it is a pain to strap it on and store on the yak. Rolls great in the sand. Has. Anyone ever had any problems with scupper holes cracking? I can mount wheeleez wheels on my kart.

This was a pretty common discussion topic a few years ago, bottomline with many yaks the general consensus was a scupper hole cart is a bad idea. One time on my cobra I was looking for a leak and spending some time using a flashlight inside and out, you could see the light thru the plastic which showed me how the plastic in the scupper holes was definitely thinner than most of the rest of the yak.

I wouldn't do it.

Hobie started re-enforcing their later models because of the scupper cart issue.

Any ideas for a strap system to tie the kart to yak for pulling to the lanch site?

I use a scupper cart on my sea ghost, hasn't been an issue in 8 months.  I use the Malone cart and it came with a foam block so the  weight sits on the foam block and the risers just keep the cart in place.  Seems to be a great option as far as I can tell.  If the foam wasn't there I could see the risers wedging into the scupper holes and becoming an issue.

Oh man. I have a 2014 revo and use a scupper cart. Should I be worried?
A jerk at one end of the line waiting for a jerk at the other end.

I wanna say from 2012 on you should be okay but I could be wrong. Here's a picture of the scupper re-enforcement.

Thanks for the link. I did pick up a wheeleez kart this weekend and now I have some ideas on what way to go.
