Heard a boater intervened and scoop up a kayaker who flipped his kayak and was showing hypothermia signs.  Coast guard was called but don’t know any more detail as of yet.  Most of the day was pretty rough out there today so sure would like to know the details on why they were not able to right the kayak and apparently not wearing the proper cold water clothes.

Yesterday coming in from Tomales I got a taste of what it would take to flip a kayak.  Strong SW wind creating wind swell in the direction I needed to go, felt like if I could stay straight I could blow in like surfing but the tide was coming in kinda in the opposite direction of the wind so if I didn't stay alert with my rudder I would begin to turn and be parallel in the trough and if a gust came as I was trying to correct depending on where I was in the trough the kayak seemed tippy so I woke up and muscled my way straight even though it seemed as if things were working in my favor.  There was one moment when I said "uh oh", that was close....still dry and lesson learned, don't mess in 15kts +- in Tomales Bay.

“I’m going fishing.”  They said, “we will go with you.”

The ocean can get nasty but Tomales is no joke.  I went through the mouth once and it was like white water rapids with all the water forcing through the opening.

Yesterday looked decent up in Mendo/Bragg but the wind sure added a good punch.
