I took a newb out on my spare scupper pro, Alan, an oldtime atari games artist.
He had never done much fishing, but had done quite a bit of surfing and was used to the ocean.
He caught 3 rockfish, china, black, and brown.
he would have caught more if I had replaced his teaser after a snag.

I caught a 20" underling (released), 1 yellowtail/bolinas and 6 black rockfish. most of my fish
came on a grey and white saltwater fly I used as a teaser in about 50 feet of water.
the ling and the biggest black hit the swimbait. another black hit an apex I bounce trolled on the
bottom behind an 8oz banana trolling sinker for awhile.

I saw some kayak-fishers out there, a red boat had a legal ling, maybe an NCKA-er?

Getting comfortable with the rod KZ made for me, will do a review soon,
want to catch a few bigger fish with it first.
