I think you'll doing fine with that net unless you're after the Pac-Hali  :smt003

What net do you think would be needed for that?

That's pretty expensive!! I'd go for a ranger landing net.  I've got the largest ranger net, been using it for 2 years.  Just now replacing the bag

They are $95 on Amazon. The MSRP is marked up to make the in-store price seem better.

Yeah, I have that net currently. I'm just not sure it's up to task for a big salmon or CA halibut.

I used to use the L hoop before they came out the XL. I've netted some (about a doz) 20+lbers in that net. They were tight fit but worked.
so XL is plenty for me (no problem w/ 15-25lb both Hali & Salmon). I've netted well over 30lb angle shark (my 30lb boga was stretched all the way) on XL, but I thought the handle is going to break...
I like they're compact enough & can transfer easy (I have three different size hoops).

32" x 41" is a HUGE net! While nets with large hoops are helpful in netting salmons and halibuts, they can be problematic when used from a kayak. They can act as a sail in high wind if stowed vertically in a rod holder and can be unwieldy to operate single handed.

Oh, it looks like mine is the Large. They must've come out with the XL after I bought mine... I'll have to upgrade that. I felt mine was too tight a fit.

Yeah, L is 22x23", XL is 24x27"

I agree w/ the huge nets, it gets caught on the stored extra rods when you trying to pull them out.

I really like my HUGE Frabil Pro-Formance net. I only use it when I’m trolling for salmon, so I don’t notice any “sail effect”. I can imagine it might be a little annoying if I were drifting, but in those situations I just bring a smaller net (to be legal) and a gaff for lings/halibut.

My only complaint about this net is that it’s pretty heavy. You might also consider Lininger nets (available at various local tackle shops) or Beckman nets (recently bought by PLine I believe, and back on the market). Both are supposed to be lighter.

The Frabil works well enough that I can’t justify buying anything new...
