Hey everyone,

I am trying to find places that have very large carp. I am originally from the midwest and used to catch them quite a bit. They put up a really good fight and I wanted to change things up. So if any of you have spotted them while out on the water please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

A little bit of a drive for you, but Shadow Cliffs Park in Pleasanton definitely has some big carp in it.

Last month spotted a lot of them in the North Arm of Folsom Lake.  They were filling the coves and shallows all around the Rattlesnake Bar launch.  They were jumping and slapping the water in just about every cove starting from Rattlesnake Bar and continued that way past Avery Pond.  Go get em

You can find them all over Lake Berryessa, too.

Vasona Lake in Los Gatos has plenty. I see them all the time in Los Gatos Creek just upstream, and have seen some big ones pulled out of the lake.

You could go to Santa Cruz in the AM, catch a halibut, and get carp in the afternoon on your way home. That would be a pretty unique daily double...

Ah not not too bad of a drive. We have family that lives around there so it would be a good incentive to go visit more 👌.

Ha that is a good idea. I think if I started hooking up on Halibut it would be difficult to leave because I have not been able to go fish for them yet.

See them every time I go to Folsom South fork in the coves near the bridge. Last time I was there pine nuts were falling and they were eating.

Most lakes here have huge carp and the percolation ponds here do also. If you go to the Delta you can find some monsters.
A good dough ball, small hook and not to heavy a line you should have good success. Someone mention Clear Lake in Lake County if you up for a drive has the most bang for your buck. Carp, large bass, crappie bluegill and some huge catfish.

Good luck

Another good spot closer to you would be the ONeil Forebay, you could also target stripers. The red circle is where I always see those mud fish! Big ones too! Good luck post a report! :smt006

Awesome, thank you. I've got a few different dough ball recipes I wanted to try out. Seems like Clear Lake has huge everything.

Good luck and have fun carping :)
