Food/Help for the Santa Cruz Derby this Sunday

A few days ago, I asked Mark Pastick if he wanted any donations of food or raffle prizes for his derby this Sunday.  Here's his reply.....

Hey Chuck
It would be great to get some help from the Northern California Kayak
Anglers.
Last year Ernie made some nice Salmon Pasta.  I also remember some
delicious ceviche from a gourmet in Monterey.  Last year I ordered hot
dogs from the stand by the launch ramp.  If a barbeque is  needed I'd
like some advance notice.

Two weeks ago the Santa Cruz Good Times wrote an article about vandals
pouring bleach into the pool where the adult steelhead spawning salmon
were kept  by the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout restoration project.  
Wadell Creek nursery at Big Creek Lumber .  It killed the spawning  
adults and thousands  of the next generation steelhead.   All entry
fees shall go toward  the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout restoration
project.

I'm not planning on a raffle all the prizes are given to the
contestants.  If you want to start a raffle and hold it for a few weeks
I'm for it.

Maybe we can start a potluck list.  Just list here what food and drink you'd like to bring.

I could barbecue some pork butt.

But with weigh in at 1pm I would have to have access to the site from 1am to the next morning.

I will try to think of something simpler that still allows me to fish.

How many do we need to feed?

I will help in any way possible.  I have obligations Sat. Morning but the afternoon is clear and except for tomorrow morning I am also clear.

As for a grill.... If we need one we can ask Mark or just have one of us bring one.

Dear Mol:

              Shamrock has a grill that we may use. I have no Fish yet but,I'll bring some Beer.
               I can't belive that someone would want to kill fingerlings.

I can bring some skirt steak and tortillas.  Cilantro too.

I think we need to be well connected with the organizers so we keep this coordinated.

I have a few halibut chucks left from my 18 lber I would be happy to donate, not nearly enough to feed 30-40 though.

If we want to make taco's I will bring some flour tortillas.

I got 4 pounds of beef to grill, and I am out the door to get the ingredients for the marinade.

I'm gonna be in town tonight also so if you guys can think of anything else to add call my cell 925 577 8450 (john) so far it looks like I'll bring soda and salsa fresca for the tacos.  Are the plates and utensils covered?  See ya on the water. jtf..
