Or the pier for that matter. I will be camping in San Simeon this weekend. Looks like perch are on the menu? Any tips or tricks for this area? For the perchers, any reason they would not bite on crappie jigs under a bobber? I am on a quest in 2018 to catch the most species I can on a bobber. Is the pier worth a shot?

+1. AOTY should have a bobber subdivision...
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Yes to perch on the beach by the campground, or on the north side of san simeon pier. I imagine a gulp sandworm under a bobber would work. If fishing from the pier go 3/4 to the end and cast south towards those isolated rocks/kelp. Can probably catch some various rockfish on a bobber too. Leffingwell area is good...I’ve also done well from the bluffs up by Pico ck. If you drive up the coast, the area around Ragged pt is good but difficult access trails.
Remember hwy 1 is still closed near Gorda due to the mud creek slide.
