Hello, my name is Carlos, I am new to this board and kayaking.   I bought a new kayak from California Canoe and Kayak in Oakland and the first thing they highly recommended was to join NCKA, glad I did.  This is my first time browsing thru this board and I can already tell their are a lot of great people here who share the same passion.

Hope to see you guys in the water soon and meet some nice new friends.

Thanks, Carlos.

Thank you all for the nice welcome, I will definitely join a few hookups.  My first plan is to take a self rescue class and practice kayaking in calm water first.  I did get a dry suit, pdf, vhf radio, whistle, knife, flag and built my own milk crate  :smt001.  It is super cool to start a new hobby and nice to have a community of nice people.

Welcome, Carlos!  I am pretty new, too.  Still looking at Kayaks but haven't yet pulled the trigger on getting one.

Thanks AmericanMan and Welcome to NCKA as well.  A few of my friends have caught striped bass from the beach lately, last week my friend caught 6 in a week near Monterrey using sand crabs and fish finder rigs.  Fishing is fun !!! Have a great week.
