Short notice but I’m going to hit Berryessa tomorrrow morning. Launching from Putah Canyon Campground at 645am. It’s a $10 parking fee. Radio CH 69. Grey ram truck and olive revo 13.

Plan is to topline troll for trout until my legs get tired then rest and throw bass lures, then troll more! I may bring my downrigger, but I didn’t need it last time so I may not. Going to head into the putah creek area.

The lures that worked a week ago were jointed rapala, kastmaster, and criplures.

“I’m going fishing.”  They said, “we will go with you.”

Slow bite this morning and a ton of boats out there! I blame the seminar at ISE regarding Berryessa trout for the number of boats. I’m the immediate area around the launch there were a dozen boats trolling including a guy in a pontoon boat who insisted on cutting me off every 5 minutes  :smt013

I caught 1 trout and 1 spotted bass for 3 hours of trying. Ended up leaving early so I could do chores at home.

Nice. I'm surprised there is still action. I wonder what the bite will be like this spring. I'm thinking Putah Canyon Resort would be a good place for a fish and chill in March or April. TroutTastic!  :smt006

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

Sounds like you still caught fish even with loads of knuckle heads banging around and cutting you off ever 5 minutes.
You can't help yourself. Skills :smt001
