Greetings!

I am a graduate student at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and am working on a project that analyzes the geographic variation in growth rates, age, and sex of Canary Rockfish along the US West Coast.  We are looking for a crew of anglers to come and help us collect canary rockfish for this project aboard the New Sea Angler with captain Rick Powers out of Bodega Bay.

I am looking for 10-12 volunteer anglers to help with sampling on January 22nd, 23rd, and/or the 24th, but it is all dependent on weather. The plan is to meet at the Bodega Bay Sportfishing Center around 6:30AM for a departure time of 7:00AM and we will return to port around 3:00PM.

The goal is to head out to Cordell Bank and other fishing sites based on Rick's recommendation to collect 100 canary rockfish total across all sample days--Also, we will be fishing deep and shallow! (150-300ft), so please prepare accordingly. Weights and shrimp flies will be provided but we ask that you supply your own rods.

Unfortunately, we won't know if the trip is a go until a couple of days before. If you are interested in coming along, please respond with your dates of interest and a phone number to contact you with.

Thank you!
Rachel

If only during crab fest weekend :smt012
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
