I hit the water at 6:15 this morning. Headed down river to the pump. Worked both sides of the river with topwater Spooks for nothing. Saw a few fish jump or roll, none of them looked very big. Almost went as far as the H st bridge then headed back. Off the water around 9:20. Water was nice and calm with a little wind.
I did notice schools of fish on my FF. Most active on the river side of the pump. They looked to be heading up river. Might be shad??? :smt001 :smt001

Tote and Chub arrived and fished up river. Good to see you guys again.

CHUB and I were on the water around 7am. After talking with Al on the VHF we decided to head up river.
Found an off shoot pond and headed in. LOADED with 10-20 lb carp, but none would have anything to do with our offerings.
I was able to momentarily boat a turtle with my paddle. He scurried off as soon as he was on the deck.
Fished the river with poppers, rattle traps and swimbaits for nada.
The weather was great, the fishing was not. Didn't talk to a single PB who had any luck either.
There were a few striper busts, but nothing that lasted for long.
Met up with Al at the launch as we were packing it in.
