Does anyone have one of the Scotty Compact Theaded Deck mount?  Any comments on it?  How wide is it?  Thx - Kevin

Mooch has a couple of them... I don't have any on my rig but I've seen them and they look very nice... perfect for tight spots.

The diameter of the circular top cap is 2 3/8 inches and the diameter of the threaded shaft is 1 3/16th inches; the shaft is 2.5 inches long.  It required a 1.25 inch hole.  The retaining plastic nut is 2.5 inches in diameter.

I installed four of them on my Marauder. The bottom line: I really like them.

The two behind the seat were no problem; however, the two by the footwells were a BITCH to put in. The mounting surface slopes downward to the outside so the rod holder angles inward rather than a typical surface mount that angles backward. I had to put a temporary spacer between the hull and the footwell to stretch the opening wide enough to be able to screw on the nut. After lots of sweat and words unbefitting a woman, I succeeded!

This past weekend I tried using the 6" extenders in the front to raise the handle of the rods to clear my feet and to paddle more easily. Works like a charm!

IMO: the best rod mount system....BUT...you need access below the deck to complete the set-up.

I have two mounted behind the seat of my T160....will post opics soon.
