Alcatraz 6/4 Sat 7am to 12pm - current ripping

Chasing Internet Fish, we decided to hit Alcatraz, launching from Muni Pier, picking up chovies at Fisherman's Wharf and Heading out to the ROCK!
Calm and beautiful in the morning, JTF and I  luanched from Muni Beach and trolled out slowly to the Green Buoy where reports of halibuts roaming the area. By the time we got there, my other buddies Dan the Man and his brother Andrew made it out to meet us.
The calm morning hid the ripping current which hit the Rock and moved the water swiftly to either side on a strong incoming. There were alot of PB's in the area but alas no fish.
We had to head back in and work the flats in front of Pier 39 and the Muni Pier. Dan pulled in one 4' Leopard, but that was all.

note: The muni beach launch is very easy and there's 4 hour parking if you get there early enough.

Muni Beach is actually the Aquatic Park, the inside area protected by Muni Pier, had a temporary brain freeze.
