Don't give up on sturgeon yet guys, the Napa River is loaded with them! We put in at Cuttings Wharf and headed South to the RR Trestle. Was in the water 20 minutes and then hooked this Beast of 65 inches, 64 lbs.  Towed me around for 20 minutes.  The fish have been in there for several weeks per Sweeney's Sport & Tackle in Napa (Pondsurf works there and unfortunately had to work yesterday).  Saw one other sturgeon jump, and another >66 incher which had to be thrown back by a shore angler.  64 lbs yielded 34 lbs of dino meat, ready for the honey and butter glaze and the BBQ!

Nice Fatty Max   Ghost?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Combo grass and herring oil injected ghost shrimp.  We waited for Pondsurf to get to Sweeney's with the daily supply of fresh grass shrimp that he picks up wholesale from Port Sonoma (Joel at Leonard's).

Max,
Just to let you know your fish was 100+lbs. I didn't realize I was using the digital scale that only goes to 50lbs. Another guy came in 2 hours later and wieghed in a 102lb sturgie 64" long. Yours was an inch bigger but much fatter. Same little honey hole. Proud to know you!!

When the Lord takes your sins, you never see them again. He casts them into the depths of the sea, forgiven and forgotten. I even believe that He places a sign over them that reads no fishing allowed.
