Has anyone launched/fished from Kolmer Gulch, just N of Fort Ross?
Looking at heading out tomorrow and might give it a try.

There is a trail thru the brush down to the beach, it's steep long and winds tightly thru the brush, if you could get the yak down there it would be a decent launch.

Nearby Stillwater cove is free. Others in the area are great launches bu cost a few bucks.

I grew up fishing that beach. Never launched a kayak there. Caught my PB cabbie out front there a few years ago.
The trail would be totally doable with a second person. The shore break though can be miserable. Stay toward the big rock on the beach. I've helped a couple divers get out of the surf in the past. Pick your day. I'd have to say that it's probably equal distance between the fort and TC. So, either you are looking for a nice challenge or just trying to save $8. Either way I'd say go for it! I'll join you sometime.
If you want to thank a Vet, be a person worth fighting for.
