Thinking about launching my Kraken from Shelter Cove at Pebble Beach to do a little rock fishing. Anyone familiar with the area? Perhaps you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Got that Kraken right in the first direction.  Many posts or even vids on launching from SWS.  Still Water Cove...was just in Monterey and I hope you geetum.   Stay out of the MPA and go north along the coast out of the cove in 30-40fow?  Anybody...?, or head toward carmel beach in the kelp beds...?   :smt006

This weekend?  Swell is supposed to be pretty big starting tomorrow. I'd be careful.  Probably won't affect your launch as it is protected and you can probably stay in the cove, but around the corner it will be bad.  Saturday morning it will be 10-15ft @ 15seconds @ 300 degrees.

EDIT: just saw you said tomorrow....haha...yeah I like to go around the corner to the north in about 60FOW, usually there is plenty of fish

Thanks guys. Weather was great. Stayed north. Got a lot bites right away inside Cove where there is a shelf. All small though. Through back a couple of cabezons, and a ling. Ended up with a big grass rockfish in this area 31/2lbs. Went outside Cove a little north. Caught one ling, only 23". Enough for dinner though!

Using traditional shrimp fly? Any jighead or swim bait?

I knew Wed was the last day for good weather. Had plans for OC but 16 foot swells forecast for Friday. I used soft plastic swim bait with nice 3oz jig heads. A lot of bites from smaller fish that couldn't get that hook in their mouth.
