This is the derby where that picture was taken of Danglin hoisting a big ol' chinook, or Tyee as they call them in Canada.

http://www.moutchabay.com/Kayaking_Derby.htm

The word this year is for the majority of salmon are to be in the 4 and 5 year age class, so there should be some 40+ pound class fish available.

There will be a group of NWKAer's representing, but it would be great to see some of our southern brothers and sisters in attendance.

Where would the fly in be for this spot? Fly into Vancouver and take the ferry over?

Fly into Seattle or Vancouver or Victoria.  I'll pick you up where ever is most convenient.  It's about 8 hours from Seattle including ferry.   It's about 5 hours drive from Victoria which is already on the Island so no ferry needed.  Or if you want to avoid the drive time and take a float plane up to Campbell River, that's a lot closer and the flight would be fun (although a little pricey).  It's 1.5 hours drive from Campbell River.
