I just got confirmation that Jimmy (from Broadway Bait) lost his home in the Santa Rosa fire.

Damn, I was hoping he was ok and we just got bad intel.

I just talked to him. His family is well, but he's under the impression that nothing in his apartment was insured.

My niece lost her apartment.  The manager gave her back last month's rent, her deposits and an extra $1,000.  He did that for all their tenants.  It won't replace what she lost, but it will help her get into another place sooner.  In the meantime, she's living in Livermore, moving back in with her sister until then.

Sams working A shift 0600-1800 in dispatch. I’m working B shift 1800-0700 on the street. We will be doing that for the foreseeable future. Lots of outside agencies working with us too.

I have seen law enforcement from all over the state in my neighborhood.  I know that you guys really work your asses off. We are lucky to have good folks to do what you guys do.

I've been working that same shift getting heavy equipment ready for use.  I know the Sherriff and Fire Dept where I work have sent a lot of units around Sonoma and Napa county.
Thanks too everyone who are involved in support on getting this fire stopped.

Yeah seen Equipment from all over ..rental Cats , Deeres, etc etc PD's from all over , FD from all over . Heard Navy and USMC are on their way up too ..
Well TW when I see piece of Hvy. equipment from out of town I think of you .

I've had a couple days off due to the fire near south Willits. I live north of Willits, about 10 miles, and spent the day yesterday watching the fire line from afar. In the morning I was worried, it was blazing along an entire ridge top. Later in the day I started to feel better as I couldn't see it making forward (northerly) progress. Aircraft were hitting it hard as well, including one huge plane (747?).
The winds are now blowing from my place towards the fire, sort of blowing it back on itself. It's also cleared the air for us, and aircraft.
I know things can change quickly and am not letting my guard down. Willits is still worried about a breach into the city.
We have our comms back up now too.

I'm deploying from SF tomorrow evening for a 12hr stint... I have no idea what/where we'll be assigned, but I'll post if I have cell service.  Prayers to all.

What are you talking about we were already there. 

Just got internet back. Checking in from west Napa. Surrounded by active fires but feel pretty safe. We are ready to evacuate if needed. Partrick fire is within a mile, nunns has come back over the hill and closing down dry creek. Thank God for our protectors on the ground and in the sky.

How is everyone in the zones faring today?

My/our area was spared . It was stopped within a few miles  NW of us .No PG&E ,Yes water.Smoke not bad today. We are still in one of the evac. zones and watching homes of those that left and keeping eyes out for looters.
