Been dealing with computer issues so this took awhile to get together...

Little compilation vid of multiple dives this summer at various spots in the #831.

The night time footage of the last few butts and mullet didn't come out at all so this is all I got...

Not super clear footage, but it's a good representation of how it looked in real life.

Too bad I don't wanna shoot bat rays...could have loaded up!!  :smt002 :smt005

Jim

Thanks for sharing!

That is a whole new kind of hunting to me. A Butt is high on my target list.

I absolutely love halibut and have got them regular fishing a ton but never tried diving for them. How deep do you usually dive to get them and how do you get such good viz In such a sandy place?

It can be super frustrating and heart breaking...staring at miles of sand...over and over and over and over and over...but when you get one it makes it all worth it...kinda  :smt005

I'm no expert at all, but I've shot them from the surface in 4/5 feet of water, out on edge of structure in 10/15 and out deeper in 20/25...

There are spots around here that are known for producing...think about the areas where you get them hook and line fishing...  :smt001

The viz can be hit or miss and I had days this year when I was out hunting and couldn't even see much past my wrist...

Butt Mullet? not what I was expecting. :smt044 :smt044

always worth the wait for your vids! Thanks, plus the amazing cooking photos! One of these days it's gonna hit me that I could do something other than fry my catch in a pan!

Here's a 60 second version of the butt footage...played with colors/filters/speed to try and make them easier to see...
