Is there a source for either parts or a kit to convery a jigmaster to a different gear speed?

Here's a link to the Penn parts department, if Alan can't help.

Brian,Do you need more than 4:1 ratio?Penn did make a 5:1 jigmaster #505,I believe the parts will not interchange.I don't think there are any aftermarket gear sets available, like there are for the 4/0 reels. The newell series reels would be you next step up.

I was hoping for a squidder 6:1.

sorry, brian.  there's no 6:1 option on the squidder.  your best bet is a chef's special.

Also check out the Diawa Sealine XSHA series... they are 6.1 : 1  and around $110.

I think that I will probably end up with the Daiwa SL-X40SHA 6:1 : 1 ratio.

why such a big reel?  go with the 20, spool it up with straight spectra, pack the bearings with grease, replace the drags and go fish!

Alan.....Brian G. is from "Lodi"....they tend to do things "different"  :smt002 From what I learned from Brian G. is that the fishing is always better when "he" decides to wake up  :smt005

I won't go against expert advice. I'm going to order the 20.

Mooch.....I might have to change my handle to "Lodi" if you keep this up. Sides the fish don't care if I sleep in. It is almost time for night fishing season.
